Counting Calories To Lose Weight

The weight loss formula to losing weight is pretty much straightforward: burn more calories than you eat. If you eat more calories than you burn…well, you gain weight. However, if the weight loss formula is so simple, why do many dieters find it hard to lose weight or they can’t lose weight?

One of the reasons why many dieters find it hard to lose weight or can’t lose weight is because we live in a society where most of our food is processed and high in sugar, calories, and fat. Then again, it’s up to people, not just dieters, to make a choice to eat healthier and be accountable for everything they eat and drink.

Yet, I’m realistic about the food choices people make and their eating habits. Not everyone is going to make a raw food diet part of their permanent lifestyle or even have a diet free of carbohydrates, fat, and sugar. There are people who most certainly do it, but your average American will find such diets too restrictive. I know I would!

How to Lose Weight Counting Calories
Dieters can lose weight and be successful with finally getting rid of those extra unwanted pounds if they approach the weight loss formula rationally. Who says that you have to completely eliminate the foods you like to eat in order to lose weight? Of course fitness experts will tell you that you do, but honestly…you don’t.

It’s all about how many calories you consume in a day and how many calories you burn overall. Remember the weight loss formula; you have to burn more calories than you eat to lose weight and it takes 3,500 calories to burn 1 pound of fat. The problem is people overlook the fact that one can effortlessly consume 3,500 calories in just one day by eating “too much” of the bad foods, but then turn around and grumble that it is hard to lose weight.

Again, it’s all about how many calories you counsume in a day or your daily caloric intake. Therefore, the only rational and easiest way to lose weight is to eat fewer calories. If you workout with one of the best ways to lose weight, you can burn more calories faster and it will help you to lose weight quickly as well.

Watch What You Eat and Count Calories to Lose Weight
Counting calories to lose weight may not be the most ideal approach to shedding pounds for most dieters, but it works. The key is to be consistent writing down everything you eat and drink in a food journal or track your meals with an online food diary. That’s all there is to it! If you burn more calories than you eat, or to say it another way, if you eat fewer calories than burn, you will lose weight.

In order to properly use a food diary, the first thing you will need to do is figure out how many calories you need to lose weight using a calorie calculator based on your sex, age, height, weight, how much you want to lose, and how many times you plan workout with a fitness routine.

Once you know how many calories you need to consume each day to shed pounds, you can start counting calories today or as early as tomorrow morning beginning with breakfast. Just grab a notebook, a food journal, or sign up with an online food diary and you are on your way to finally losing those pesky unwanted pounds!

Counting Calories to Lose Weight Helps to Get You the Body You Want!

Counting calories doesn’t have to be complicated and as a matter of fact, counting calories can be as simple as:

1) Skipping a high calorie meal like at a fast food restaurant
2) Substitute soda for water with lemon
3) Drinking fat free, low fat, 1% milk or 2% milk instead of whole fat milk
4) Portion control your meals where fresh vegetables fills the bulk on your plate
5) Snacking on fresh fruit, a parfait, trial mix, or a low fat granola bar instead of sweets like candy, chips, or cake.

See…it’s not that hard! As long as you track what you eat and drink using a food journal or an online food diary, losing weight to get the body you want will become much easier. For faster weight lost, make sure to incorporate a weight loss workout plan to help you burn extra calories.
